Shannon Clark

Shannon Clark was born in Jupiter, Florida, though she was raised in the Southern Tier of New York.  She began studying piano at the age of 5 and partaking in school choir ensembles at the age of 7, though she finally found her home in band at age 9.  Clark’s first traditional band instrument was the trombone, but switched to what is now her primary instrument - the tuba.  She studied with Aaron Tindall at Ithaca College while in high school.  She also has a strong vocal background through choir and theatre.  Clark received her Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Florida.  At UF, she studied with Dr. Robin Sisk and Dr. Danielle VanTuinen.  She participated in collegiate ensembles such as the marching band, concert bands, jazz band, choirs, and brass band.  Throughout the years she has involved herself in a large variety of ensembles.  She has played keyboard, bass, and percussion with praise and worship groups in Upstate New York, central Florida, and the Tampa area.  Clark has a background in musical theatre, music directing shows for both SPARE Productions and Afton Community Theatre, as well as playing in a variety of pit orchestras.  Clark is also involved in the world of british brass bands, working with the Salvation Army’s Florida Divisional Youth Conservatory and playing with the Brass Band of Central Florida.
