Lorianne Alegria is the Director of Bands and Percussion at North Port High School, teaching band, jazz, marching band, percussion, and indoor percussion. Her ensembles consistently achieve superior ratings from FBA.
Mrs. Alegria previously spent 13 years teaching orchestra at NPHS, where she grew the program into the largest orchestra program in Sarasota County, with over 150 students. Her orchestras consistently earned superior ratings from FOA, and she also serves as an FOA adjudicator.
Mrs. Alegria’s Marching Indoor Percussion groups have placed in the top 3 of the FFCC competition circuit for the past 12 years, expanding the group from 20 to over 50 students. NPHS is the first school in Florida to have two marching percussion groups. Additionally, Mrs. Alegria’s two percussion classes at NPHS each have over 20 students enrolled.
Mrs. Alegria has a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting from Middle Tennessee State University.
