Athanasios Kokkalas is known for his patient, motivating approach to instruction and his commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential as musicians and performers. With extensive experience directing orchestras, choirs, and bands, he is passionate about developing students’ musical talents, creativity, confidence, and appreciation for the arts. His expertise in conducting ensembles and preparing students for high-quality performances will be a tremendous asset to our performing arts program.
Mr. Kokkalas brings an impressive educational background, including a Master of Music in Theory and Composition with a concentration in Film Scoring from New York University (NYU) Steinhardt and a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition from The Manhattan School of Music. He also holds multiple advanced diplomas in composition, harmony, counterpoint, fugue, and orchestration from prestigious conservatories in Greece.
As an accomplished educator, conductor, composer, and music director, Mr. Kokkalas has founded and led youth music organizations, directed orchestras and choirs, and developed engaging music programs that inspire artistic excellence and lifelong learning. North Port Mr. Kokkalas as our new Orchestra and Choir Teacher.
